Finally heard back from the vet. Tuddy has immature catarats in both eyes. Left being worse than the right. I will be getting the specialist from the vet college out to do some further investigation.

We made it past the baler.... We had one epic spook, and I was like, "Okay buddy, that was you being ignorant because we walked by it five times already, so here we go". And we did many circles in front of the baler/that end of the arena, because "C" can be an issue at times too....

But in Tuddy's case I'm not sure it matters whether he's always required to go down there or allowed to stay further inside his comfort zone, because the trainer, who probably isn't worried about coming off if he loses it, takes him down there? Sure, but the trainer isn't feeding into his spookines...
