Re: Little or Lot of Emotional Support Needed-It starts again!
DD#1 has only been back for a few weeks and she got a call from MSF for emergency help in Mozambique (Cyclone Idai). Supposed to be only for 2 months but she'll be leaving in a day or two. The previous stint in S. Sudan was interesting to her (long term maternal health outcome study) but this new as...

OH, one suggestion someone made last year was to hose him off when I bring him to wash off any saliva left by bugs, that was a FABULOUS suggestion! Thanks to whoever suggested that, quick, easy and made a difference! That was me. Glad it worked. Best fly boots are these. I've tried them all! https:...

The horse-which one? The one that was at death's door is doing great. If he didn't have an awful clip job from the abdominal ultrasound, no one would guess that he had been sick. He has put back on his lost weight, he's eating and pooping up a storm, and he's moving really well because of the steroi...

So today was nothing that I expected. His ultrasound was clean. Intestines have healed and NO EVIDENCE OF CANCER!!!! So the vets think it was a one off episode of Inflammatory Bowel Disease. Cats are supposed to have 9 lives. I don't know what it is for horses but this one has gone through 3 of them.

Tomorrow is our recheck at Davis so we can start tapering him off his steroids. Steroids are wonder drugs. Too bad about the side effects though. Currently, if he didn't have the awful clip job from an abdominal ultrasound, no one would suspect that he had been sick. And I mean an awful clip job. Th...
