Oh my gosh, I have the same thing. It's going around work. Two weeks now, and I keep feeling like it's getting worse! Coughing wakes me up in the middle of the night. Throat is not as bad as yours. Ive always gargled with either warm water or warm tea. Ibuprofen helps too.

This is what has worked for me - Betadine scrub daily, (rinse and dry) followed by Miconozole Nitrate 2% (which you can buy either as a "jock itch" cream, or you can buy the Monistat 7 type of stuff made for yeast infections.). That and trying, if possible, to keep the area from staying mo...

Thank you for all your kind words! I think the key to a successful portrait painting (I paint from photographs) is finding the right photograph to work from. So is your horse falling out through the left shoulder? (Does the Circle have a tendency to enlarge when you track right?) You could experiment and try some counter bending (at the trot first) to see if that helps. My horse also throws me to the outside at the canter to the right (his haunches swing...

Yes! All the ground work has been fantastic for that. And some days, when I'm tired, or when I just don't feel like riding (especially if it's cold) I still seem to have the energy to do that.

Re: Talk to me of long lining/double longeing/ground driving
One other word of warning - whatever you do, don't used the lines that connect - make sure your lines are separate. It is so very easy to get tangled up in it all when things go wrong - they get the line up under their tail, or they do a flying leap and get one between a back leg. Rico still flips o...

I have done lot of long lining/double lunging in the past with Rico - its a great skillset to expand on, and it's a lot of fun! I still do some, but I feel like it had more value early on in his training, I tend to see the limitations more now than I did then (but perhaps that's just me!) - so pleas...

Here is a small clip of some counter canter while we were working on flying changes a couple of days ago. Turn on the haunches from our last lesson. (and a couple of rico freak-out photos!)
I had a lesson the other day - first dressage one in a long while. Rico was very good boy, except for a couple of minutes part way through when he completely spazzed out as they started bringing the horses in for dinner. Two ponies came flying in the man door, made a ton of noise on the gravel, and ...
