SF the view from that arena is always spectacular, and I'm amazed your soloshot is still going. I killed mine a couple of years ago and it's too expensive to ship it back for fixing. I don't comment much, but have been watching your progress :) Yes, I talk nice to mine when I take it out of the bag...

Re: Micklem bridles

The tricky thing is that the horses have different head/ear shapes, so might not work well for all. Of course it's important to make sure the browband is generously sized; I think bridlemakers are getting better about sizing browbands appropriately so they don't pull the crown into the ears. I think...

I had an interesting day yesterday working on a 20m cone circle. Last year, I would usually have to abandon all hope of riding a marked pattern with Tesla, but now she is much more cooperative and I need to start working on her accuracy. Cantering the marked circle seemed especially good for her, an...

Here are a couple interesting ones. I set out a 20m circle with cones yesterday, and then I decided trying to ride with my "handcuffs" at the end of each ride. This was a first trying it with Tesla, and pretty illuminating/humbling on using the outside aids to contain that right shoulder. ...
