Dresseur, that sounds full on (your work). I wouldn't even understand how it all works. I'm just a flight paramedic but have taken a spot facilitating the training and currencies for our paras, and we have to do it in a training facility 3hrs from home. MC, that last pic is in the warmup. A stretch to counteract the 'teapot' pose he can get. Why wouldn't you care if they were on the forehand for the stretch? I know I find it difficult to get the weight back off if I let it happen?

Rosie, hope those ABs get rid of your pneumonia asap. Not fun being that sick I'm sure. I'm not sure why I got iron deficient. Dresseur, I just get the impression that he doesn't have the strength yet in canter to carry his weight more on his hind end, like he does in his trot. He's very active and has nice bend in his hocks etc, but the weight still looks a touch forward? But there's nothing 'wrong' as such, and it will ke...

If you've got a decent arena wall, turn him into it. Dont increase the pressure, just ask for halt and if he doesn't then tip his head into the wall. He'll stop. Also, my guys walk halts are at better at the end of the session, not the start. He's a bit not interested (or balanced probably) at the s...

Have you tried not pulling at all? Bear with me here .. I have a big strong horse and went through that. I did a lot of 'horsemanship' training with my big horse because he was so reactive and I thought he would eventually kill or injure me. It's hard to know what to suggest because it is very horse dependant. If it helps, my little horse can brace and pop his neck up and I love pulling back on the reins. For transitions, I do them on a circle and have a good bend, even a bit of extra flexion before asking and allow them to happen over ...
