I've always preferred them as I think they put less pressure on the withers and neck. Yes, the Wug does bunch down, but it still puts less pressure on the neck. I love that big road trot! My now deceased 14.2 Arabian would put it in cruise control down the trail at the trot, all.day.long. He loved it. He was once clocked at 9 mph by someone biking next to me for a while. Not bad for a little guy.

I think rain rot has a holistic health component. I'm adding probiotics to my pony's diet this year to see if it helps. I've also revamped and analyzed her diet so she's getting more selenium & vitamin E, plus the probiotics and we'll see if it recurs.

Thanks for all the suggestions, unfortunately SSGs don't fit me, I'm between sizes in their line. I'm going to try some Heritage gloves lined in thinsulate from Smartpak, I'll let you know what I think when they get here.
