Hi all,
Just this week I found some new XL red barn calfskin reins on eBay at half of retail, so I nabbed them. They came yesterday and they're exactly what I was looking for--butter soft with subtle stops.
Thanks for all your suggestions!

Re: Silent Auctions for Fundraising?
Why dont you do an online "silent" auction. Put up descriptions and pics of items, and have a weeklong online bidding process. It's not silent in that people can see the current bid like on eBay. I did one of these every year for a therapeutic riding program, and it worked well.

Re: Retaining old washing machine/dryer for horse/dog stuff
We did just this. When we bought our house it came with a FLwasher which I didn't want. We moved it out to the shop, ran a cold water hookup to it, (I never wash horse blankies in warm or hot), and drain it outside to the ground. I've been so glad I did, that when that washer gives up, I've decided ...

I use two, Smartpak thrive for my Morgan, and High Point grass pellets for my pony. I like both, but because they each have different needs, I use two different ones. In addition, for my area, I also need to add a selenium/vitamin E supplement (smartpak's), to these.

This pleaser, people oriented trait is what I love about my Morgan mare. She has the best disposition of any horse I've ridden. I think Morgans (and saddlebreds, too!) are kind of a "hidden gem" for AA dressage riders. They are typically quality movers, have great feet, and stay sound. Yo...

A french link prevents the nutcracker effect of a regular snaffle. Many horses have a shallow or low palate which a regular snaffle will poke the roof of the mouth when used.
