Re: Vancouver Island BC - trip ideas / suggestions
I have not heard of ferry service to Tofino from the south end of the island along the west coast. When most people talk about taking a ferry to get there it is from Vancouver (mainland) to Nanaimo and driving across (~3 hrs). There are some fabulous excursions by boat from Tofino heading north, asi...

Re: Vancouver Island BC - trip ideas / suggestions
I would HIGHLY recommend heading across to Tofino, but it is a bit of a haul. We like Crystal Cove for accom, and they have a terrific beach. You can stop at the Cathedral Grove on the way. Victoria is beautiful, be sure to do touristy things like taking the harbour taxi over to Fisheman's Wharf. I'...

Agree with the 2 above posts, they are often looking for a certain level of care, riding trainer involvement vs time in the show ring.

Shirrine, you and your pony look wonderful. And your riding doesn't look in any way that you feel tired or weak.
Also, if someone isn't impressed with what they see they can either make a gentle suggestion, or just not post.

Our cedar shake roof is about 40 years old (3/4" split cedar), and we are looking to replace it. I don't think we can justify the $$ to install new shakes. Just wondering what roofing materials others have, and pros/cons.

Since he is on full lease to both of you is it still costing the owner $$? Could you come up with a formal agreement to cover all of his costs? Though at that point it would be better to take ownership of him for $1.

Rangers time is limited, both for work and in general. It sounds like you & Louise have an excellent relationship with him. If the owner needs to sell I would suggest buying him with Louise, and funding his retirement if/when he needs it. I don't think I would trailer him for clinics or lessons,...

The fact that you're riding the newbies horse changes things quite a bit. You can not shut her our or be unkind to her. BO will side with the newbie, since she is the paying boarder. What are 'rigger geldings'?
