Re: More horse shopping, anyone? (Tsavo?)

20K may be chump change to you, but I can get a decent, young-ish WB horse going solid 2nd level for that price. Ok, I challenge you to show me some. I look for something a little more than 'decent'. I always  on the internet when posters say they can get nice horses cheap. I wonder why they ...

Wow! So happy for Cedar! She had a show last weekend showing 2 of the horses she works with, got one score for bronze medal, 3 towards her silver and one towards gold. That is impressive for a young trainer. I'm impressed. Most impressive too is that both those horses are young, the oldest being 10...

I'm confused about the pending rads. Doesn't the vet have a digital machine? Why are the feet rads pending and the other rads not pending? One more thing about horse size. I don't know what size saddle you need, but with the smaller horses they often can't accomodate a large seat saddle w/o going pa...

I agree, this horse is not worth 20k. He is very long in the body for his length of leg, and he is only going to get heavier. If he is quiet and sound, maybe 10k. Pretty is as pretty does, and IMO the horse is not worth 20K. I don't know what he's worth, but there have been conformation experts tha...

BTW, another pattern I see with FEI trainers is to work the horse that shorter period of time after warm-up (20 minutes), and to also have the horse hacked quietly for 30-45 minutes at another time of day. I think this works well for many pros since turn-out is more limited or managed for upper lev...

It's important I think to be able to judge when your horse is tiring. That's how soft tissue injuries happen. That's why the walk breaks, even if short, are important imo. It's not easy for some of us to judge if a horse is tired, especially if they are a very hot horse or willing horse. My mare so ...
