Re: Would you buy a trailer without a dressing room?

I echo what other posters have said about not wanting to deal with the extra weight. I pull with a Suburban. All my stuff goes in the truck. Like it better that way. I have no desire to have a dressing room.

That's what I like about this board - there's usually someone who thinks like you do! So glad I'm not the only one that feels this way about Hello/Adele. Also thought I was missing something. Thought maybe it was my age;-0

I haven't picked her up yet; she doesn't feel comfortable with both me hands around her middle. But too bad--she needs her claws trimmed and I'll just have to stuff her in and not feel bad when she cries. OmegaMare,

I can totally relate to your comment about your email inbox. I just emptied mine and am systematically unsubscribing to all those sales emails that somehow found my name on their mailing list. I'm amazed at the difference it's making.

I have the opportunity to ride a horse while Lad is undergoing his treatment for EPM. The horse is older and has not had a lot of work due to his owner's illness. Do any of you have experience with horses with sway backs? Anything I can do for this guy as he gets back to light work? I have a nice th...

Scruffy,

Where in RI? I grew up in East Prov. I've been gone a l-o-n-g time, though. I still have a few friends and family in that area. Chancellor, I can't make the upcoming gathering. The next time I'll probably be up that way is around Memorial Day.

Re: Seniors...will you buy another when....

I posted this in Veterinary, too. Lad's blood test came back positive for EPM, so we will begin treatment. In the meantime, I guess I'll see if I can find someone with lesson horses until we see what the outcome is. I do think he'll be okay.

Hi, Mari
Wait til you watch season 2! One change for good (IMO) is the theme song. The one from season 1 was too dark and I hated the fresco backdrop. I watched season 1 on Netflix and just skipped the opening because it made me angry. Season 2 has a catchy new theme song

Re: Seniors...will you buy another when....

The vet came out for Lad this am. She thinks his problem is neurologic-maybe EPM. So, blood has been sent off. At this point, I think I'll look for something to lease or an instructor who has lesson horses that isn't a million miles away. Kande50, if I did a get a second horse, it's true I'd only ha...

I'd like to thank everyone for their comments. Both the kissing spine diagnosis and the ulcer diagnosis were two things I hadn't considered, and I wouldn't have made the connection that Lad's symptoms might indicate either one. I thought a horse with kissing spine tended to have a more violent react...

That sounds just like Lad. I know someone else mentioned ulcers, too. If it has to be anything, I'd rather it be that than kissing spine. The vet is coming out the 10th.

Lad's blood work came back positive for EPM. The vet came out today and examined Lad. She suspects EPM or some other neurologic problem. She was very thorough. She did a lameness exam, etc. She feels it is EPM or some other neurologic problem. She had me get on so she could observe Lad's beha...

Abby, I agree with you about buying something you think the person would like - like RTR buying for her brother. Gift giving is exciting when you buy find that special thing. Also, you can always encourage the family to donate in some form to a charity, e.g., serving Christmas dinner to the homeless...

My husband and I are very anti-toy (especially since most of them are made in China). All my grandkids have more toys than they know what to do with, so we opt for experiential presents - things like camp, or a season pass to the zoo or botanical gardens (our local gardens have a wonderful kids sect...

I agree with Ryan's Friend and Rhiannon - movement is your friend. Yoga, pilates, swimming - once I get going, I feel s-o-o much better. Same thing for our horses - I think our instinct is to decrease their activity, but movement is better - even if it is just walking.
