scruffy I see the draft in the mare for sure, just liked her canter better than the palomino's canter. Loved the pally's trot. Would you be interested in an Iberian? I ran across a buckskin Lusitano that has some nice movement, young but looked very sensible.

RF low or high ringbone or both? Yes high ringbone can fuse on it's own. I would add into this discussion that only through correctly applied exercises like lateral work, skipping gait transitions etc can a horse develop the strength and flexibility (unless uber talented) to be in self carriage and light and active and again I do agree with MC here it is horse dependent ...

You got your golden horse!! Excellent that he was ok with the surcingle. It is not a bad thing he did not have much done with him, now you have a clean slate to work with. You know, if he does not end up being your regular dressage horse he would probably clean up in Western Dressage!

Well yeah!! I'm glad you checked again. I knew the frosting is common in the lighter buckskins like ours, not so much with the darker ones but I have seen it.

Well around here trainers are very expensive and hard to find that you would trust. Owner almost sent her back to where she got her from (not a good place, though shows FEI dressage, mare was thin and feet were BAD which is why she was lame, yes she was lame when she got here) to sell her, then back...

You can always double lunge (run a second line from outside caveson/bit, behind the HQs to handler to control the drift of the HQs. Dresseur yes, and that is one of my biggest beefs about SRs and their ilk and how often they are incorrectly used.

I don't use SRs at all anymore. I follow along with some BNT like Karen Rohlf and Manola Mendez and especially Anja Beran who do more work in hand and educating the horse that way, with some lunging especially with the youngsters.
