Re: Paying for a car

When my old Toyota Avalon (bought used) started having troubles at 325,000 miles, I bought a 2 yr old "new" one, financing about 8k of the price, rest paid with cash.. Had the loan paid off in less than a year. Dealership was happy cuz they got to sell me a loan and I was happy cuz I didn'...

Re: Guess the Score

There were 3 sessions over several weeks so three different high level judges, but the consensus was "average" off-breed mover 6-7, average purpose-bred dressage horse 7-9, so there is some overlap. My Rudy generally gets 7 for gaits, he's a small TB who can look super cute and elegant in ...

Re: Guess the Score

A few years ago i attended the first phase of "L" as an auditor to learn more about judge's thought processes. I can verify that the first thing learner judges are told is to base all scores off of the gait score. You are to watch the horse move, decide in your head what your overall gait ...

I'm a mom and I most definitely would have moved on when I found they did not have tack sized for kids so... That being said, when my son was 9 he rode my 17.1hh dressage horse in my saddle with short stirrup leathers. Prior to that, he rode his pony (or sometimes DH's hony) in a child's western sad...

Re: Sitting trot

One of the reasons no one will sit on Rudy (as in trainer-type people) is that his trot is insanely hard to sit. (Actually, even rising trot was a challenge for the first couple years.) I rode him in the USDF AA Clinic years ago and wound up doing the bulk of the trot rising because of that. When sh...

Simply check with whatever state they are calling from. Each state has an uncollected funds site. No PI required. Most likely a scam, but if she has unclaimed funds, then by all means claim them for her. Most of the time, the funds are under 50.00

First off, jingles for Odin and Laddie Chisamba, your poles look like a great deal of fun. I actually managed to at least ride Rudy on New Year's day; my plan to ride Tio was way-layed by the "sudden" appearance of my deceased friend's mare in my pasture. A friend of mine called me while I...

I love pony trot for both my horses but for different reasons. With Rudy, it helps me to get him focused when he's tense and thinking about other things. I think it works in part because I have to concentrate on his steps too, so I can't think about what might be distracting him or creating tension....
