Yep...it is hard. We lost my Dad a little over 3 years ago and he had had a 3 year slide into deep dementia. It was very hard and she nearly killed herself taking care of him. I usually just use scissors even though Kyra is a gem. I don't keep the clippers at the barn and usually forget them so end up doing her bridle path and her jawline with the scissors. The Explora boots did not work for Kyra. She has kind of 'muley' feet and they just didn't fit right. So, I guess I am happy to work with velcro and will order her another set of Renegades. Well, I think most everyone here knows my trials and tribulations with Kyra and bitting. She does not tolerate jointed bits. Her inner cheeks are incredibly fleshy, she doesn't like tongue pressure and if she has it, she lifts the bit off her tongue and back into her molars then pinches the crap out...

Yes...it is hard. I had to work my claustrophobic one all the time with the trailer. It just turned into being part of the training scheme. 3 days in the arena, 1 day hacking, 1 day trailer work, 2 days off for example. I have Kyra do HI in-hand via a draw. Interestingly, I learned it from a NH person with an interest in dressage and who worked with Bettina Drummond.
