Re: Changing my feeding program and looking for input..

Thank you, Dr.Reeds#3-, vitamins and minerals seem to be chocker blocked full of ingredients with no stabilizers, added grain, milling by-products or molasses. it's expensive though. it's roughly $60 per horse a month. The hay I bought is clean but from last year I was hoping to keep sugars out. te...

Re: staying slow in the medium trot

My biggest takeaway after struggling: Half halt every 3 strides. Some horses just never get a good lengthening and do much better when they start mediums (strangely this is my horse). Ultimately it all depends on what your position is doing/not doing and your horses' balance- that seems simplistic b...

exvet, obviously Lilo Fore is a superior clinician. I have a metaphor I would like to add. yeah- on horses that have short necks like junior, MM and my horse side reins can cause more of a low/closed posture so use with care- I had to use the sliding side reins on my horse to get a more dynamic contact. Maybe I was doing something wrong, but JMHO

I usually don't find anything too radically different in any good instruction. But there has been one thing and I'm kind of thinking it might be a problem. I had a pro ride in part time training for the first 4 months but I also rode a lot. In my case, the trainer knew the horse really well and we rode fairly similarly. The one thing to watch out for is if the horse is getting different experiences between you and the trainer- some can work between two...
