So what was the source of my discontent?

the saddle needed a reflock.

thus I was listening to the horse as always but it took a bit to assess the core issue.
thanks for all these good ideas!

Re: Looking forward to looking forward - March/April Goals and Progress

I tend to stick with the realm of trainers who my trainers ride with- not so much that it's limiting but the overall philosophy is the same. I don't like it when clinics are way too outside the normal trajectory- sometimes i feel that it changes things for the horse so far outside the program that i...

Hi Friends! I feel like I'm doing well with my dressage theory and plan. I have several very good trainers and regular help from GP level clinicians. I'm looking for a fresh view of the horse/human connection. Not so much dressage, but just how to explore with a different spin I do not really want N...

Chisamba, never delete your posts! It may feel like people are challenging your responses, but for me looking in I get so much out of the discussion. I totally agree that behaviour is communication and this has been an awesome turn around in my view on training. Right, this is just a discussion.......

This is such an interesting idea. I tend to vary the length of the neck more than most riders as my horse likes to get too short/closed. I think this really helps him breathe better. I also (like Flight) started doing a lot more "stand and wait" on a long rein. My horse is pretty hot so he...
