Re: Home From Cuba

I did. But I met several other Americans and know the daughter of a friend who went simply as tourists. There is paperwork the airlines gave me to fulfill the Visa purchase ($50 with JetBlue), and the recommendation is to fill in as a reason to visit, "people to people". Cuba wants you to ...

Re: Home From Cuba

It was the the start of their cool season - so only in the high 80's and low 90's. We were in a neighborhood just west of downtown Havana, about a ten minute drive. Weird combination of both low-income homes and just a block away, Embassy Row on 5th Ave. Our Casa(B&B) served a great breakfast, t...

Go! Just returned Saturday after a week in Havana with Global Volunteers. Anyone can go, so go! I'd recommend flying JetBlue, they seem the most well-represented.

I worked the polls in my precinct - 15.5 hours. Holy crap the close-out procedure took 90 meticulous check-and-double-check minutes to complete without compromising any ballots/votes. I was blind with exhaustion. Besides that, the whole experience was great, in spite of the loss of a man who should ...

When I first started taking my horse to shows he spent more time with his head up staring than he did moving. There was a time I swore NO MARES!! Then I wound up with four of them. I grew to absolutely love them. But they are, in general, a little more trouble than the geldings given same breed, same age, relatively same background. If I outlive my 14 year old mare - and I will hopefully outlive her...
