How to deal with big trots, via Werth

Postby Tanga » Tue Jan 26, 2021 4:29 am

Considering the how to sit big trots thread, here's an option! If Isabel can sorta post the extensions, we should, right? I'm older than her and probably a worse back, so maybe a thought!

I've noticed her doing this before too! And I've tried it myself (since I can't do sitting trot on my big horse!) and it's hard to make it just a little rising trot like she does.
I do think that it is probably fairer to the horse if riders did rising trot to the extensions. You see a lot of leaning back for riders to try and stay in the saddle.

eh. not sure how I feel about this. Disappointing and probably not ideal for giving the right aids and half halts.
