Well, this serves me right...

Postby Moutaineer » Fri Mar 11, 2016 9:02 pm

I never got round to getting my flu shot this year, what with one thing and another. Unusual for me as I am usually religious about it.

I woke up at 4am on Wednesday thinking "I don't feel so good..."

And yes, it's officially influenza.

I don't recommend this at all.

Well, that sucks, doesn't it. I hope it runs its course quickly.

I'm sorry you got sick. Never fails does it? Yes, we are having a late flu season. I do the influenza surveillance for a large hospital system in north Texas and influenza just started hitting here about two weeks ago. I still has been a pretty quiet flu season though. Hope you feel better soon.

Sorry you caught it too :(

I'm one for one. Each year I've gotten a flu shot, I've gotten the flu.

I got one this year to visit a friend who's undergoing treatment for leukemia. Sure was effective!

BTDT and missed a trip to Seattle because of it a couple of years ago. Feel better soon and yes I do not recommend it either.

Flu 'season' is late this year.
So sorry you got nailed. I have had 3 episodes of something viral since October. Last time might of been the flu as I sure had a lot of nasty body aches but didn't get tested...called in sick one day then had a few off so I just stayed home and did lots of R & R.

Jingles and get well thoughts coming your way.

Oh, feeling your pain. I am on my 3rd or 4th go around. This time severe laryngitis, sore throat and evil cough. Just as well, since I am stuck in Pullman waiting for our beloved Nigel to be released from hospital. At least I am getting lots of rest! Take care moutaineer, hope you recover sooner than I.

Sue and Kyra, it must be something in the intermountain western air.

Nothing upper respiratory for me, for once, just hurt all over and feel like death warmed over. Those body aches sure do pinpoint all one's injuries over the years... my lower back is screaming louder than everything else.

Still, I think the Tammiflu is kicking in today. I'm actually sitting in a chair now feeling bored and sick rather than curled in a foetal position in bed.

I am willing to bet most people who think they have the flu, dont have it

the screaming body pain and fever now that is influenza. Amazing you feel a bit better already

I have only been blessed once, many many years ago. I was out of school for over a week.

We get vaccines free at work, now I get my shots every year. Does nothing to prevent the coughing cruds that cycle through , usually starting 2 or 3 weeks after school opens. Last year I got tonsilitis and it lasted 4 months, with three trips to the doctor and no test that ever pinned down what it was.

blaagh I hate being sick
