Getting stronger.

Postby Shirrine » Wed Aug 24, 2016 11:16 am

Thinking back to a few months ago I am pleased with my progess to get fitness back. We were talking about it at rehab today. Back then I could do 1 thing a day and have next day to rest. This weak I had Drs appoinment on mon at 9.30 then walked around til 4.30 for lunge test, Tuesday rode lewynand went down the back to check mares, today rehab then shopping and tomorrow lesson. I have come a long way. It has crept up but I am getting stronger. :D

I'm very happy you are feeling better. Never underestimate the time it takes to heal. Your body has been through a tremendous amount of stress. Rest, good fine, and horses of course, are the best healers. Continue with your slow and steady progress.

IMO walking really helps get some fitness back and helps me with weight control. I miss it when the weather is bad. I feel the swinging action helps my hips and shoulders which can get tight from sitting too long. Eat healthy - it really makes a difference too. :)

So glad you are feeling it :D . You had a long haul but so happy you are gaining energy.

At this age, it doesn't take much to lose it and seemingly FOREVER to get it back. I've had a few crappy years with skeletal issues (bad feet, bad hip, bad butt :P ). I am limited in what I can do and when I try, it seems like something else breaks. Talking softly here but I think I have a handle on some if it and with a little help from PT think I am getting stronger too  .

Let's carry on :!:
