Button and brooch bouquet
My DD is getting married in February. She is having a small wedding at the courthouse. She wanted a button/brooch bouquet. I had never even heard of that, so I googled it. This is what I made for her. I'm really happy with the results! She wants me to make a matching headband as well, which should be a piece of cake compared to the bouquet. She wanted a "naked cake" as her wedding cake. I had to google that as well! I made a practice one, and I'm going to make that as well with 4 6" rounds.

Gorgeous!!!
Re: Button and brooch bouquet
Congratulations on the upcoming nuptials! The button flower is gorgeous, but why no pictures of the naked cake?

Re: Button and brooch bouquet
your button and brooch bouquet is very lovely, not so much the pictures I googled of naked cakes. i suppose i thought it simply meant without lavish icing, not with its crumb showing
however, her wedding her choice, hope you all have a wonderful day.

That is beautiful. How creative you are. I heard of naked cake from The Great British Baking Show but would have no idea. I still think wedding cakes should have some icing, maybe just a fondant covering?????

That brooch is beautiful. If you Google naked cake(and click on images), there are some lovely photos. Icing between the layers, a sort of antique rustic look with fruit and flowers as decoration. Really pretty.
Re: Button and brooch bouquet
Very pretty brooch bouquet! You did a beautiful creative piece. I too googled the naked cakes and thought they were lovely with their decorations! I'm not a fan of all the sugar icing - so they looked really pretty and yummy IMO!! Your daughter will have a beautiful wedding with her creative ideas.

You did a fabulous job with the bouquets! I also had never heard of naked cake so like Chisamba, I googled it. In contrast to Chisamba's response, however, I thought a lot of them were gorgeous. But then, I'm not a frosting/icing lover.

So pretty Sunshine! Will her wedding have a bit of a vintage theme?
Re naked cakes...I googled as well....laughed when I saw photos and realized we had a naked cake and didn't even know it was a "thing". We had a Sunday morning wedding on the beach, reception place just a walk up the steps. Brunch type theme. For cake at noon, we went with a sponge cake with lots of berries and a light tasting icing (and I LOVE icing) on top and between all layers. It was literally the best cake I have ever had in my life, lol.
