Human treats for Ariel's birthday
Miss A. is turning 17 on Sunday and I want to bring human treats to the barn. I always end up bringing coffee cake or cupcakes. What can I make that is relatively easy? I am a fairly decent baker so can do cakes. I don't like a ton of chocolate, so something like chocolate cake with choc frosting is out. I like gooey caramel stuff.....
Re: Human treats for Ariel's birthday
No caramel, but raisin oatmeal cookies? Or sugar cookies made with a horse-head cookie cutter and decorated to look like Miss Ariel? (Probably not easy easy...)
http://blog.candiquik.com/triple-crown-horse-cookies/ These are cute and look fairly easy, although I am not a big fan of peanut butter!

I love Magic Cookie Bars. They are like crack! I wonder if you could add caramel to them for that "gooey" effect?

Oooh, Magic Cookie Bars (or as my family calls them, 7 Layer Bars). Haven't made those in years. So good with the addition of butterscotch chips. Definitely on the short list of items to make.

Miss A. will get her carrots, and a birthday apple. I’ve decided to make Paula Deen’s gooey butter cake which involves yellow cake mix, 8 ounces of cream cheese, 2 sticks of butter, and a pound of powdered sugar......

Smitten Kitchen recipes are usually pretty darn good... https://smittenkitchen.com/2009/04/cinn ... much-news/
And this sauce recipe: https://smittenkitchen.com/2009/04/cinn ... much-news/
If you want to do them together I'd put the caramel in the bottom of the dish before placing the cinnamon rolls in to rise.

The gooey cake was delicious. Of course, anything with 2 sticks of butter, 8 ounces of cream cheese, a pound of powdered sugar, and 3 eggs is gonna be good.....
