This weekend didn't go to plan

This weekend I headed to the National Palomino Championships to watch Grace make her show saddle debut. She has done dressage comps but not a show.
Saturday morning friend lunged her early then fed her and cleaned her stable. She didn't eat breakfast and friend started to walk her. We put her in best body colour as she was going to be walking anyway. As she hadn't made improvement I called the vet and drugs were administered and she was put in her box where she slept for most of the day, still not happy though. At 3.30 I called the vet again and she suggested we take her to the clinic which we did. An ultrasound was done and you could see her small intestine which you shouldn't be able to see, it was very sluggish. She was left for observation and paperwork signed in case she needed and operation. Luckily she came good over night and she went home Sunday.
So instead of having a great weekend forgetting about treatment and watching my special girl I had the camera out taking pics of firend ponies. It was really good to get away from the house and spend a few nights at a horse show and the people were wonderful.
Next year IS going to be better.

A very stressful weekend for sure. Sending jingles that Grace's GI issues are resolved and she recovers fine. You will attend this show together next year.
