Carrot cake as a gift?
I usually bake salted caramel brownies from scratch for my barn owner and farrier. It can be a bit time consuming and this year, I am planning to give 5 other people a gift that I've baked. The brownies are time consuming, and baking 7 batches seems daunting on my limited time.
Would carrot cake be too non-traditional to give as gifts? I have a recipe that is for a large cake, so easy to break up into smaller cakes. Everyone who has tried it (even people that say they aren't carrot cake fans) has loved it and I've got the recipe down to being super reliable. Would you be offended if you were given one as a gift?

of course not. A hand made gift, no matter what it is, is always welcome my world.
carrot cake is a complete and balanced diet, so it shows you care

I think it's a terrible idea.
But I want to be supportive so will send you my address so you can send all the cakes to my place.
I would do this for you.
In all seriousness I love the idea of homemade gifts. Of course I gave jars of pickled beets to my co-workers so I may be biased.

I think the carrot cake gift sounds lovely, and very suitable for a barn owner, farrier, etc/ I too love home made gifts and do not object to food gifts at all

I think carrot cake would be a pleasant change from the sweeter treats of this time of year. Make it look pretty, and folks will be delighted.

Homemade baked goods are a huge hit in our house. And, bonus, carrot cake is a favorite.
What do I need to do to get on your gift giving list??

You could use those miniature bundt pans to make 6 small(ish) ones at a time, and they will look pretty too!

The brownies are actually from Smitten Kitchen http://smittenkitchen.com/blog/2013/02/ ... -brownies/
One hint, use the weight measurements. I've tried measuring by volume and they just are not the same.
