Some of you may remember Nigel, my son's english black lab who was very sick since last year. In March he underwent a thorascopic surgery to tie off leaky lymph ducts and relieve his heart of it's "sac" (pericardium.) As a result of the surgery, he developed a large clot (thrombus) in his right atrium and had to be on injectable "blood thinner" (levanox) for a month until he could be re-echo'd. Last week ds had no school Thurs/Fri so we headed back up to WSU to get Nigel his recheck. Cardiologist reported that the clot is gone (yay!) but that he still has some right-heart enlargement and a bit of a leaky valve (boo!) They are expecting that this will not affect his overall longevity or his future ability to show and hunt, however (yay!) So THANK YOU for all the jingles and prayers sent Nigel's way. We are thrilled to have our dear dog back healthy and hearty.
