Dover Saddlery's 2016-17 annual catalog cover
Has anyone seen the newest cover of Dover Saddlery? Interesting jumping photo. I was hoping someone can comment on the horse's footwear (not to mention front legs crossed as he clears the jump). I can't find a link or photo to post here. The online catalogs, I believe, are different from this snail mail catalog I'm referring to, where Kent Farrington is aboard Aron S.

Could you take a pic and attach it?

At first I was like, well, it's just standard open fronts, but now I see what you are talking about.

Er, well,...I was hoping someone wouldn't make that request Regrettably, I'm a dinosaur when it comes to all things computer, except the ON/OFF button. I'll try again to see if the photo is available somewhere online. The brick/mortar stores probably have copies, as a possibility.

Are those the boots that bite a bit or something like that?

I think it's not so much the boots, which look like plain old open fronts, but the shoe job. :O
My guess, the horse had glue ons on which left that little ridge thing when removed. As for the placement of the metal shoe? I have no idea. Just a guess, it doesn't allow breakover as easily so maybe it makes the horse snatch his legs up tighter in front? His hooves look atrocious though and I'd wonder if he's sound...

As far as the hooves go, It looks to me like maybe the horse has on "easyboots" or something similar?

I found this on FB after googling him and the horse, I feel like you can see the hooves better

Not pinchy, weighted. I knew there was something goofy about that brand. It's Equifit D-Teq. They make weighted liners for their boots, because…there aren't so many Hackney horses available for cross breeding as they've gotten quite rare.
The liner in the cover pic isn't weighted, just comes high enough to protect the knee. Probably a good idea given the way that horse uses himself LOL!

OOOhh, duh, that makes much more sense....lol. Thanks! I knew there was a glueon part involved, but couldn't figure out the bulky part as most glueons I have seen aren't that bulky. Then there is the oversized metal shoe part? Idk.

I guess I don't see what oversized metal shoe part you are referring to?

Every glueon that I have seen or used looked like this (or had the web at the top):
I misspoke when I said metal part because I couldn't tell from the front angle that the whole rubber part was sticking out as well. These are more like GluShus or just the boots with shoes.

Can't see pic but foot part I'm guessing straight bar shoe and inner tube type pull on bell boot?

OP, I thought you were talking about the Dressage edition cover at first. There is some weird photoshop boo boo going on with Laura Graves and Verdades. Like they left in a martingale or something from a different cover and made it connect!!

Looks like a bell boot to me as well.

Nope, it's the hunter/jumper edition I'm referring to I was questioning footwear, not leg-wear.
I used glue-on aluminum shoes on a horse once, which the feet in the photo remind me of, but they didn't have the tab thingys coming up like in RTR's photo.

Do you all think there is some extra equipment in Verdades photo? aka photoshop fail?

I see an extra strap but it doesn't seem like it would be in a martingale location? to me it could just be the saddle on the right side- its all sort of in the same area.
It looks like the end of a test, so a martingale is very unlikely.

Re: Dover Saddlery's 2016-17 annual catalog cover
I don't believe the horse is wearing glue-on shoes. It's normal shoes with these Italian bell boots:

They are designed to be very snug and not "flop" around like traditional bells.

And when I first saw it I thought you were referring to his crossed front legs!
