I'm not shareboarding

Postby PaulaO » Mon Aug 22, 2016 6:28 pm

I'm LEASING! So Ariel is mineminemine! The lease is for a year and after that I will know how committed I am (I think I know that). So now I get to buy all the goodies a horse needs--halter, bridle, bit, saddle plate......

I never thought I'd fall in love with a redheaded TB mare who cribs, but I did!

I know this sounds crazy, but I hope Bob is o.k. with this. He told me he would send me the right horse.

Maybe Bob knew what you needed more than you did. Congratulations

Re saddles, have used trumbull saddlery for used saddles find them to be very knowledgeable and helpful. They used to have a trial system. Instuctions on tracings etc. I think the guy post on ddbb from time to time.

IYou already love your red mare <3

I have an a/p on trial--an HDR. I put it on her with a girth and it looks good. I'll ride in it tomorrow. I'm sure my dressage saddle will fit--it has fit every horse that tried it, from a shark fin TB to a PoA with no withers--but it's not appropriate for jumping.

Yes, I loff her already.

I read the title and felt sad; then I read the actual post and felt so happy! If Bob knows about this, I'm sure he's very happy about it.

Bob knows you have love enough for two. Love doesn't divide. Love multiplies.

Yes, PaulaO, you had me fooled, too! I almost didn't open the thread! Congratulations on Ariel! Your excitement comes across in your posts.

Ditto. Hurray!

If you can use a pair of 4.75" jointed stirrup irons, I have a pair I'd be happy to send you.
Keep calm and canter on.

I spent yesterday alternately sobbing and laughing. I'm filled with anxiety but so looking forward to having a horse to fuss over. I have a lot of love to give and while I will always love Bob, I need to put my current emotions into a horse that is here. I'm still crying but at least am slightly under control. Rockabilly is right--love multiplies.

Rockabilly has it right. When I lost my Cloudy TB and Chippy Cat 2 weeks apart I didn't think I could love another horse or pet again. Fast forward I purchased a large Peanut pony because I missed riding so much and got a rescue Sparky dog. They help so much with the healing and they certainly need love too.

Yeah!

And of course Bob is OK with this. He loved you, he would never want you to forget the joy of riding and loving a horse.

Loving a new horse in no way diminishes your love for Bob. He knows he was the number one horse.
