Singing about your horse

Postby Suzon » Wed Oct 21, 2015 1:58 am

Sooooo...I was cleaning my paddock tonight and this random little filk ditty popped into my head.

Sung to the tune of "My Old Man's a Sailor" (think Smothers Brothers if you're old enough to remember them). Here it is:

My old mare's a Saddlebred,
Whatdaya think about her.
She has a big Saddlebred walk,
And a Saddlebred canter.

She has a Saddlebred trot,
And two other gaits too,
And when she gets a wild hair,
She'll buck and fart like a goof.

And someday, if I dare,
I'm gonna buy another Saddlebred,
Same as my old mare.

Sorry, just had to get that out of my head.

Do you ever filk about horses?

I sing at the barn all the time. And yes, I remember that Smothers Brothers song! Great, now I'll be singing it ALL day!
