About a kitten called Quilo

Postby PhoenixRising » Fri Oct 28, 2016 2:29 pm

Its an interesting story how I ended up with her, but I "accidentally" got a kitten. The lady I picked her up from got her at 4 weeks old, from a lady who had them living in their own feces and urine. She was flea covered and not in good shape ( I mean, a 4 week old kitten shouldn't be weaned anyway). As you can see she's in a lot better shape now, aside from being a little underweight. She's 9 weeks old now, and I've named her Quilo (kwi-low).
The unfortunate part of this story is I'm not allowed to have cats in my rental, and she's completely stolen my heart. I've arranged for her to go live at the barn, and we may try to find her a home with someone there. I'll be completely happy though if she stays a barn kitty so that when I move (someday) I can take her home. At least if she's at the barn and gets along with their cats I will still see her several times a week. Plus, this barn is about as safe of an outdoor living environment as you can get and all the cats there are extremely well cared for. For now, she'll likely live in the laundry room there until she is bigger.
I get really sad when I think about leaving her tomorrow (the day I'll be moving her to the barn). She's just absolutely perfect. Her purr box doesn't seem to know an end, and she'd really just love to be in your lap all the time. Surprising, for a kitten that is supposedly 3/4 siamese.
Since this thread is useless without pictures, naturally I have a bunch to share with you.

Rue is quite jealous, and when they had to share my lap she was trying to push herself further and further away. After a couple hours she started to adjust to the idea and relaxed more.

She's adorable. Strange you can can have dogs in your rental, but not cats. Anyway, maybe somebody at the barn will take her home, but if not, she's yours, just living in a different home. I never thought I would like a cat until I got my Ursala. Never thought I would fall for a red headed mare either!

I agree. My landlord just hates them. I think he had a bad experience with a cat that sprayed inside

A thread with so many different emotions! I'm sorry she can't stay with you. I'm so glad she got out of where she was, and I'm so glad she has a safe barn to go, where you still get to love her. And I hope she does get to come back home with you someday.

She already knows her future is bright. What a relief for her. Thanks for making sure she has a good place no matter where it may be.

Everyone at the barn adores her. I've had daily updates when I haven't been there. They keep trying to find her a home, and I keep selfishly and not so secretly hoping they don't. I got a little emotional when I thought someone might. She really grew on me fast, funny how that happens. I'll be going up tomorrow evening to body clip a horse for them, I'm looking forward to seeing her then.

Yet another thread I've been meaning to come back and update.
After I moved her to the barn, one of the ladies decided to take her home on a trial basis with concerns for her older kitty. They ended up getting along fabulously and she decided to keep her.
I'm thrilled things ended up this way, she couldn't have a better home. She's been renamed Ginny which suits her perfectly. Her new mom is an acupuncturist and herbalist, and Ginny loves helping out in the treatment room. She likes to lay with 'her' patients and supervise all the proceedings. And as a bonus, I still get to see her all the time!

She is absolutely adorable. I'm so sorry you couldn't keep her. But glad she has a cushy indoor home. :)
