Cute horsey Halloween pics
Cute horsey Halloween pics
Hi guys
I was looking at the nice photos of horses and riders dressed up for Halloween over on COTH and came across this one:

Apologies if this has been posted already, but unless I am very much mistaken, this is one of our own.

What a tolerant horse. That costume is very clever.

Yes, it was at a short-course event so I "had" to do both sides because both sides would be seen. lol

Re: Cute horsey Halloween pics
Here are more pictures from the short-course event (which was actually in October 2013, not this year as the COTH picture implies). By this phase, the reins had erased his middle cervical vertebrae!

Re: Cute horsey Halloween pics
This was from Oct 2014, meet Dante the Bumblebee Percheron, complete with draft-sized wings!
I was a beekeeper and even had a net to catch the bees (although I'm not sure it was big enough for this bee!).
We even jumped with the wings on.
A friend heard I was going as a bumblebee so she dressed up as a flower! LOL

His cute Percheron-ness complete with bumblebee antennae behind his ears.
The whole costume.

Re: Cute horsey Halloween pics
I didn't show in 2015, so that brings us to Oct 2016. Now, it's not just a costume event for me, but also for my daughter!
She went as a Dalmatian puppy on her overgrown Dalmatian doggie. The neat thing is that she beat me in the dressage phase with a higher score!

Re: Cute horsey Halloween pics
Oct 2016 - I went as a strange blend of Queen of Hearts, Zombie Valentine, and Devil-Woman! This was aboard our Fjord-QH mare, Aggie.
I used coloured hair spray & a home-made stencil to paint on the hearts, then I added the arrow through the hearts with "zombie blood" from the costume store. Aggie was to be in a jumping clinic the following weekend, so after this show I bathed her to get the hearts off. You should have seen the result ... the warm, sudsy water combined with the zombie blood made it look like she'd been in a SERIOUS accident with rivulets of bloody water streaming down her sides & legs and pooling at her feet!!
She and I had similar knives through our heads.

Re: Cute horsey Halloween pics
Last, but not least, a few more pics from the Oct 2016 show ...
My mask and Aggie's "mane hearts".
Warming up for our XC phase.
My daughter & I with our winnings. She won the dressage phase. I won overall for the entire short-course event in our division, and I won best costume.

How on earth do you find the time or energy?! Your daughter is a very fortunate little girl to have landed with you!

Thank you! I have always breathed, eaten, & channeled "horse". I spend way more hours of the day thinking about some aspect of "horse" than any other thing. So, I muse on my commute to work about things like costumes, as well as myriad other things with the common theme being "horse". LOL
