Washed Ashore Exhibit

Postby Canyon » Sun Nov 06, 2016 4:36 pm

The Washed Ashore Project “We Create Art to Save the Sea! Washed Ashore builds and exhibits aesthetically powerful art to educate a global audience about plastic pollution in oceans and waterways and spark positive changes in consumer habits.”

The Denver Zoo is hosting a traveling exhibit of 15 sculptures through January 16. I hope I can fit in a visit next time I’m in that area.

A subject close to my heart. As a west coast island, my home collects tonnes and tonnes of plastic and other garbage along its shores. There are massive cleanups every year. Beaches end up with more debris than driftwood, etc. These are remote, uninhabited areas. Some are impossible to clean because you can't reach them by boat or land.

I will never, ever drink from a plastic bottle of water. (Okay, maybe if I was otherwise dying of thirst ...)
