My toe, it is fractured
Miss A. stepped on my foot November 12. You all know the pain. But it is still throbbing and swollen so I went to the ortho clinic today. X-rays confirmed fracture due to trauma but of course nothing to do for it. I'm cutting back on riding and no 5K walk this weekend. Bummer.

Oh, the joys of horse ownership. If they're not trying to kill themselves, they're trying to kill us. Hope the toe heals quickly.

Re: My toe, it is fractured
My one mare feels something out of place under her foot and picks it up quickly. My other mare feels something underfoot and LEANS her whole weight onto it, crushing it in to the ground. She has crush one pinkie toe twice and the other one once. I *think* I am getting a little better at keeping my feet far away from her feet. It's amazing that a single tiny little toe can totally take you down.

Oh no! Pal stepped on my foot the day she came home, luckily we were on soft ground because she did what goneriding described and put her whole (very hefty) weight down on me, but I kind of just squished into the ground. In any case I hope your toe feels better soon!

OUCH! And nothing to be done except tape to the next healthy toe. And wait.
Re: My toe, it is fractured
Ouch!! I had a fractured pinky toe from a horse 3 years ago and I dropped a 45 lb weight plate on the big one last Feb. I feel your pain. It takes a while but you can do stuff while it's healing. Just try not to overdo it.
