Cleaning blinged browbands

Postby PhoenixRising » Wed Jan 11, 2017 7:24 pm

I've noticed on a lot of the bridles at the barn that after awhile the gems/crystals get dirty and really start looking dull. Is this just an unfortunate effect of the brow bands with bling or is there a way to clean the bling without harming the leather and get them shiny again?

I've used a toothbrush with diluted dish detergent, then wipe off the soap with a damp rag, dry and condition the leather.
Keep calm and canter on.

I would just take an old toothbrush and gently go over the stones. I don't use detergent as I think the detergent would dull the stones,

Based solely on my gem and jewelry cleaning knowledge -- extra soft toothbrush and toothpaste (baking soda and water works too). Don't press.
