lift a glass to the memory of my friends

Postby Chisamba » Sat Jan 21, 2017 10:47 pm

Another year has come and gone. I do not even like to keep "anniversaries" of sad days. For some reason this one was so impactful that i find it hard to ignore. So help me lift a glass to the good memories of my dear friends, who all passed under horrible circumstances on this day five years ago. Yes time does heal, but on some days, the scar hurts like hell

It is so hard to lose them. I'll raise a glass in memory of the ones you lost.

Such sweet, kind faces. I can't imagine ever being able to cope with such a loss. But, I guess it becomes part of you and you just trudge on with life. Here is to good memories of all the dear souls that were lost that day.

I remember when you posted about the tragic loss of the horses.

I'm sure it's a day that will forever be etched in your memory and your heart. You want to forget what happened but you can't forget the horses and their loving owners.
I lift a glass to their memory and to those who loved and lost their partner so tragically.

Hugs

I know what you mean- some anniversaries are just HARD. I had to give myself permission to stop and mourn and let the emotions come. I will lift a glass to your lost friends tonight.

A horrible tragedy. Unthinkable. But it is right and good to remember them. Here's to the ones that were so loved. Their loss will always be felt. All we can do is keep going and try to replace the sadness with good memories.

You help me feel better, thank you. I raised glass and a good thought for your own beloved animals that went on ahead of you.

I missed this yesterday too, so I'm raising a glass tonight. Such lovely photos of those now gone, I'm so sorry for your huge loss Chisamba, and I, too, recall you posting about it, wow, 5 years ago.

I missed this, as I've been dealing with my mother's death on January 15th, and the aftermath. I will lift a glass to your beautiful lost friends tonight, and to my beautiful mother, as well.

I remember this like it was yesterday.

To this day, I refuse to have electricity in my barn.
The fire is a big reason why.

Sorry for your loss, Chisamba.

Chisamba, I remember your nightmare very clearly. I raise my glass also, albeit a day late. Here's to all those wonderful animals, and to you for putting one foot in front of the other until it became easier to smile again.

Tragic. And you, Chisamba, did such an admirable job of supporting your students by standing up and inching forward one step at a time. *glass raised* (well ... tonight).

With all the shit going on in the world right now, this is a different kind of sadness, more personal for all of us. I raise my glass, too.
