Going to Iceland (now with more summer photos)

I'm going to Iceland next week with a friend to ride! We're going to be riding on a northern beach, up into the hills, and on a frozen lake. At the moment I'm a bit stuck in a depressive state, so my excitement is largely intellectual, but I'm hoping sharing will spark an emotional excitement too.

My husband and I went to Iceland last summer, I've been wanting to go for years and years, just for the horses, but the scenery was also incredible. I only got to ride twice because my husband is not a rider, so my friend and I decided to go just for the riding this time. Feels a little crazy to go now, hoping we get lucky with the weather - it would be amazing to see northern lights but I would settle for not riding in a whiteout or rainstorm!

I was just looking through photos from the summer. I'm going to see if I can find and rig up my GoPro for the rides, would anyone like video if I can get it?

Hope you have an awesome trip with lots of riding and northern lights adventures! My brother loves Iceland and goes frequently. I need to explore it myself---and now that my DH is back into riding, perhaps a riding trip is in order...

Josette - I, too, want to see the Northern Lights; on horseback would be a huge bonus. Maybe we should have a DDBB trip to Iceland ?!?

Oooohhhh, I'm so very jealous!!! Going to (and riding in) Iceland is a big item on my bucket list! Have fun, and lots of pictures please!
