PPE Jingles Worked, meet Annabelle!
Since my poor Miss Pickle is going to have an extended stay in the PTSD unit before hopefully coming back to me to lead a productive life, I have been horse shopping. Since this will be my third and I'll be paying for Pickle's training for at least several more months, I've been on a fairly reduced budget and trying to find an at-least-greenbroke horse of 16H with decent gaits that I can ride NOW dammit. I found a nice one while I was in Omaha, but she did not make it through the PPE. Now, this weekend, locally, through word of mouth I found a 4 yo Appendix mare with a super brain. Tried her out yesterday and again today and love her combo of sensibility and sensitivity. Lucky break for me as she was not officially on the market yet. So anyway, arranging a PPE first thing tomorrow morning and could use some jingles after last week's disappointment. I will of course provide pictures if all goes well.

Re: PPE Jingles Please!
Well, we are back, the jingles worked and I am taking her! She is a little out in her pelvis, but I think it can be fixed with bodywork/chiro and some correct exercise. At first she was level and moving perfectly, but after the adrenaline wore off, her right hip was higher when she was traveling. Her x-rays were all beautiful and the vet declared "you're buying a perfect skeleton with great feet." She was a good girl at the vet, but will need to learn to back off of my trailer. We had to take out the divider so she could turn around and walk out.
So this is Annabelle. Hoping I'll be able to bring her home this weekend.

Re: PPE Jingles Worked, meet Annabelle!
Well, I got her moved tonight. That is a relief. The seller needed her gone since she had new horses on the way, and my barn had new horses coming in, and stall repairs needed, so I was kind of being a squeaky wheel and got permission late yesterday to get her moved.
She seemed to be settling in quite nicely this evening and getting acquainted with the funny old Arab gelding she's neighbors with (he squeals like a mare in heat; it's hilarious). I was able to ride her both days this weekend in a snaffle bit and she is not afraid of contact, but it will be a while before she is steady with it, and bending. Will hopefully get a bodywork appt. set up for her soon. This is a crazy work week, so it will just be lunging to keep her sane until she's allowed out with the herd, and then I'll hopefully be riding by the weekend. I did find out yesterday that she gets a little crazy without adequate turnout who knew a 1/2 TB needed to run!

She is doing well. She is the most busy-bodied horse I've ever met. Into everything! The other day I closed the stall door but didn't latch it when I went to grab something, and when I came back a minute later she was halfway out the door. I've only been able to ride once due to the weather. It turns out that she doesn't have much steering now that she's out of the arena she was familiar with. Her new Micklem bridle arrived yesterday, and I'm hoping it will help her transition to a snaffle (she was in a mullen shank, ). It looks like the weather is going to improve within a few days, so hopefully she'll be working more soon. Right now it's mostly lunging to try to keep her sane; she is pretty energetic.
Keep calm and canter on.
