Eastern Canada Vet Clinic - CT, Xray, Other Large Scan Equipment

Postby Suzon » Tue Oct 17, 2017 4:03 am

Coming out of lurk mode for Esther the Wonder Pig. She is currently in OVC with some motor issues. Lots of tests but no answers yet. She doesn't fit in the CT equipment (she's 650 pounds). The closest equipment they have found is at Cornell. But if they ship she can't return to Canada without a 4 month quarantine. Is there a private equine vet clinic with a CT, nuclear scan, xray, or other large diagnostic equipment in Eastern Canada?

Suzon, maybe also post on TOB (if you haven't already). Perhaps a wider reading audience from Canada there...

How is the home reno project going?

I don't know Canada much, but just scanning the web for a few connections. Even if these facilities can't handle Esther, they may be able to direct you to someone who can see her:

Sorry for not getting back. Esther is home and doing OK. In the event of everything going south, they are working with Canadian officials trying to get import regulations changed for pet pigs (as opposed to everything going under meat animals). The other thing they are working on a getting a bigger CT scan for OVC, lots of details there to hammer out including a huge price tag. You can watch Steve's update here:
