Look what I found at the thrift store

Postby goneriding » Wed Nov 15, 2017 1:08 am

I stopped in a little local thrift store today and look what I found on the bookshelf! I couldn’t resist bringing it home.

I've not read that one. I loved all the Black Stallion books.

Great find! I plowed thorough all the Farley books. The library had them sorted in order of printing. I can picture them lined up on the shelf right now.

OMGosh, I grew up with that book. I found a tattered copy at our thrift store and read it to my ds when he was little too. He, of course, named his pony Little Black.

One other - loved these stories when I was 12 or 13. Looked for it forever, then found it a few years back at a junk store.

Geez, we had that book! For some reason, as a kid, I always thought the title was Little Blacka Pony!

Sister and I shared a bedroom as kids and dad read to us every night. I still have the copy of Black Beauty that he used to read to us, as well as all my old Marguerite Henry horse books. I think books are treasures.

I found this one online and bought it for my neighbor girl who is six and having a horse crush. It was my fav book as a child and I thought I would just give her my copy but it was in tatters. The one I bought was absolutely pristine. Published in 1953. As tho it had never been opened. Image
