The strawberry rant

I just returned from 2 weeks in Edinburgh Scotland where on any given day, you can find a local farmer's market and buy a big box of strawberries for about $2.50. There is a local organic produce stand near my house, and now you can reserve items for pick up. Huzzah I thought. On no, you have to create an online account with a user name/password, give your mailing info and phone, fill in credit card info AND pay $3 for handling. Sod that. I went to my local store where I found local strawberries and I could buy them with no handling fee! I live in Illinois, with rich soil and an agricultural heritage, yet I have to jump through hoops to buy freaking strawberries.

That was my tipping point yesterday. It drove me to a loud public rant about Trump. And I felt like Captain Queeq in The Cain Mutiny.

our local strawberries will be showing up in the next week or two. I always go to the you pick fields. They usually have a pre-picked supply and some of the larger farms have corner stands in the neighborhoods.

I wish the season were longer, the only good berries available.

but you are right, it seems that you simply cannot buy, participate or join without giving over half of your identity so you can be at risk for spam phishing or hacking

god forbid you pay for cash for something
