Turkey burgers

Postby KathyK » Sun Jul 15, 2018 11:33 pm

Killer turkey burgers! Tender, moist, just great.

1 lb. ground turkey
1 medium egg, slightly beaten
1/2 cup quick-cooking steel cut oats
1/4 tsp cumin
1/4 tsp dried thyme or 1 Tbl minced fresh (I used fresh summer savory)
1 tsp dry yellow mustard
1/4 tsp salt
1 clove garlic, minced
1/2 small onion, minced

Using a metal spoon, gently combine all ingredients in a medium bowl. Make four globs of the mixture on a plate, and then shape then gently, again with the spoon, into four patties. By not using your hands, the mixture stays tender.

Spray a cast iron skillet with Pam. Heat skillet over medium heat. Reduce heat to medium-low, and cook burgers about 4 minutes per side, or until thoroughly cooked.

Thanks, I was just looking at a package of ground turkey in the freezer and wondering what I should do with it!
Keep calm and canter on.

Love turkey burgers! Toss in some diced mushrooms too.
