Waahhhh!! I was planning to put my son to bed then spend my evening downloading the greatest threads from the training forum. Now it's gone without me having gotten anything saved. I wonder why he pulled the plug early?

I believe Sandie Van Voorst was the last to post, due to a glitch where she was still on and logged in after all of us could not see it. She said she was the only registered user on. So she was the UDBB's last breath. I had to shed a few tears. This is a sad passing.
But I am glad we are here, and had a least a little bit of notice to be able to pack up our things to move on. It could have been much worse.

My thought was the poor guy didn't want to have to moderate the Political Forum on the evening of the Dem debate!#$!! (But that's me at my most cynical!!) It was very weird to suddenly have that UGGGGGLLLY BB appear as if Nigerian scammers had taken over!

Yes, my plan for last night was to sift through the training forum and save some threads. Did anyone get to it less last-minute?

I saved a couple on Friday, some very OLD ones.

I think that means the domain name has been sold?

ETA: My DH explained that the name might have been about to expire, and a "squatter" picked it up the minute it did.

Eh no. Expires April 2016. That is just a standard panel type page for a domain name. A place holder as some registrars like to call it. Goes along with CV's business.

I"m guessing.... (not 'cause it matters but as a tech geek thing) that, because the hosting was via IBM cloud, that the site was replicated in multiple regions, and that you went to the site closest to you based on DNS. That would explain why some would get it, and others not. It would take them a little bit to remove from all of the locations.
