Daughter's buckskin Morgan horse crossed the bridge back in the fall, we were down to being the old folks home as everything is at least 19 (expect for the TB mare who is younger at 14 or 15, but she has never been rideable and was a pasture mate only for daughter's horse-she worshiped the ground he walked on)

So what does daughter do... she was looking around back to the land where her former horse came from and there was this weanling.

Prairie Hill Socrates.... nick named Smarty

So now redoing the barn, moving horses around for the arrival of Smarty in early March.

I sure it is going to be a shock for him as it was minus 17F where he is now but only got to 30F here

His career is planned out to follow in the hoof steps of her prior horse except with him being so young he will be shown in hand as a start (already got his in-hand show bridle, that came early last week)

He will be greatly loved and challenged, we are used to having Morgans so are accustom to their versatility and their interest in doing multiple tasks.

Saw daughter yesterday looking on-line at a jogging cart for him.... dear, he is only seven months old let's start him a little slower

Even though he will not be here until early March everything was done yesterday except evicting the two miniatures from his stall was done, but that was made ready also.

There will be.

So far, he is still in the great frozen far north, it was minus 25 or so but he is being well cared for... however ...dear daughter already has gotten him a blanket for when he gets here, a few days ago his new specially made Quillin halter with name plate arrived - she had them alter the size of the leather used downsizing to 3/4 inch, his in-hand show bridle was been here for weeks already.

Everything has been taken out of the tack room as it is now being refitted. Found items that were lost/missing for fifteen or so years, even her lost 2004 Morgan National metal was found... now just need to get everything sorted and put back. Had to laugh as we rarely ever use a blanket but we have eight heavy winter Bakers, six mid weight Bakers, three light weight Bakers, nine fly sheets ... washed them all but none have been repacked, they are all over the house  ...but only the forty plus year old pony gets a blanket put on, the others can survive

oh in cleaning out the tack room there was one trunk under it all that had $200,000 of show coolers that Foxie and Mulligan won... I am pretty sure it cost at least $200,000 for those coolers

well, the whole house has tack strung from end to end that has been unpacked from the tack room... we never had more than eight horses that were ours but I see we have fifty-seven bits, twenty-nine blankets, fourteen saddles, three sets of harness, fourteen bridles, I guess twenty plus saddle pads, fourteen sets of four leg wraps... and they are buying more for the new guy

and I see we have thirty-seven halters

Hmmm, methinks you could sell some tack and it would pay for the new guy! Has anyone actually verified those numbers of pieces of tack you are claiming exist? ;)
