Cool story, a lot cheaper to select and train from the shelter, than to spend all that on the traditional breeds. If and when they can.

This is one of the programs that is being helped by Animal Farm Foundation http://www.animalfarmfoundation.org/pag ... ction-Dogs. I have thought about the service dog project for one of my fosters who is a pit bull. She is somewhat reactive to unfamiliar dogs especially while she is crated, so won't go there. I think she would make a wonderful police dog and we have so many pit bulls that are euthanized here, so many in the shelter. I have had quite a few as fosters. NOTHING is cuter than a pit bull puppy!
