Surprise Visitor

Postby PhoenixRising » Fri Aug 16, 2019 5:44 pm

As I was taking care of the rabbits last night (they haven't all left yet) I started having trouble with the watering can. I couldn’t figure out why the water wouldn’t come out when there was clearly still water in the can. I could feel it moving around, or so I thought, and so I was really confused. Finally thought to look and see if something was blocking the spout.... I’m actually proud of myself, I didn’t scream or throw him across the room (if I had it would have just been because I was startled). I knew he was friendly instantly and just sat the can down slowly while I tried to decide what to do. We put him in our neighbors (unoccupied) lawn. If he makes an appearance again, he'll go for a car ride.
As a funny anecdote, since I thought he was leftover water from watering yesterday. I *almost* filled up the can again before starting to water. If I had, I'm pretty sure he would have come flying out at me. Guaranteed I would have thrown him then

Good for you (not throwing the can across the room). Everyone ready to live another day  .

A couple years ago, I had the same problem (no water coming out). It was a frog...just a wee one but he was a pretty effective plug. So weird when you are watering and gravity no longer works :?: :!:

Beautiful! Reminds me of a Texas indigo snake.

If it wasn’t for the fact that I intentionally have a few rodents in my garage (contained, as breeders/feeders for my pet snake) that I feared he would eat, he would have been allowed to continue living in the garage. We simply put him back outside. I’ll only relocate if he is found IN the garage again.
He was beautiful, and I was impressed with his size when we finally got him out of the can.
