Sentiment for 50th anniversary card

Postby PaulaO » Mon Sep 16, 2019 5:35 pm

My sister and brother-in-law are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary this weekend. Their adult children are throwing a cocktail/heavy appetizer party. Sis and I are close, but she is not sentimental. She honestly didn't think a 50th anniversary was a big deal. I, on the other hand, cry at everything.

I made them a card but have no clue what to write inside. Happy anniversary seems so stupid, but we're not the "your love has lasted so long, here's to another 50 years" type of family.

Do you want humorous? How about "Congratulations! The first 50 years are always the hardest!"

No, not humorous. Gently sentimental.

"Happy 50th anniversary to the best sister and brother-in-law I could ever wish for."
