Am I weird?

Postby Sue B » Tue Aug 11, 2020 10:46 pm

Lol, I already know I am, but...

I cannot bring myself to remove my deceased nephew's contact from my contact list. It has been almost 2 years since he passed; it just feels too final I guess. Anyone else have that weird quirk?

No. I still have the voicemail from my barn helper the weekend when my mare Anna coliced that I lost in 2016.

My Dad died 6 years ago, my mom almost 9 years ago. Their number is still in my phone, and their address is still a shipping option on my Amazon account. I don't think I will ever delete them.

No, put me in with the group. I have more than one contact that qualifies.

No. You just have trouble getting over the pain. My dear friend died unexpectedly of a ruptured colon. in February I still have him in my contacts and I still look for him everyday. Llife is not the same wiithout him. We are grieving.

Not at all weird. Mom’s number is still on my speed dial, and she died in2011.

Not weird at all unless I'm weird ; as I also have several contacts in my phone that are deceased.

I wonder why we keep them? Do we just want to keep remembering them?

I think that deleting them is so final that I just cannot do it.

I think, for me at least, deleting them also feels like a saying that they don't belong here anymore, there's no space for them. Nothing could be further from truth.

LaurieB is in my phone and seeing that number is like a tiny little end of a red yarn sticking out of nothingness, one little pull and I can almost, almost hear her laughing again.

I like seeing my sister's name somewhere. It's staying in my contacts, though she's no longer in my speed dial list. She died in 2012.

I love it that we have all these loving memories and are keeping them close to us.

I have contacts like that. I will always keep them. I also never delete all my voice messages. After my Dad died, I realized I couldn’t find any messages from him. It killed me. So, now I make sure to always have some saved.
