RIP Pro A Resolute

It's with a very heavy heart that I write this. I was notified this morning that Rezi was found dead in his turn out this morning. He was reported to have been fine last night. No info as to how or why. He's been in Florida the last few years living the pampered life. His son Junior is all that I have left of my breeding program. Other than his one daughter who is doing great, I have been out of touch with his other get.

So so sorry….I still remember the one time I saw your daughter on him at a schooling warm up several years ago. They made a gorgeous pair.

Thank you everyone. The toughest part in addition to consoling my daughter was informing Tamara (Tamara in TN). Her life has moved far past her/our horse pursuits; but it was her husband, Calvin, who gave me Resi. Tamara and I had a long-standing foal share arrangement, and I took some who weren't out of my mare to train and sell because, we were 'partners in crime' and she was overwhelmed with running the farm and unable to back/start the young ones due to health issues. That went on for quite some time during which I had expressed an interest in finding another stud prospect when I decided to geld Gallod Dyfrig my (at the time) current stallion. Tamara convinced me to drive back East to look over all the colts that were there, some related to my mare and others that were related to Dyfrig. Calvin met me at the door so-to-speak and pulled Resi out and stated that he felt 'this' is the most sensible one. After looking at everyone and agreeing that Resi was 'the' one he sold him to me for $1. He just wanted the horse to go be used by 'someone who isn't blowing smoke'. A short few years later Calvin was murdered. Tamara and I have kept in touch even after she got out of horses and off the farm. I learned a couple of weeks ago that she had unexpectedly lost another close family member. Out of respect to she and her family, I can't share the details, but I knew that despite her recent loss she would want to be kept abreast of any new information. Still to have to contact her about this, more unexpected sad news, knowing all that she's been through was not easy. Resi was special to all of us who cared for, rode and showed him. I know Calvin is taking good care of him once again.

Oh I'm so sorry! I remember with fondness and admiration your stories and shares of him. I will hold the hope that as you said, man and horse are reunited and comforting each other, and maybe having a good gallop across the heavens.
