Happy Thanksgiving

Postby KathyK » Thu Nov 24, 2022 3:01 pm

I don't post often, but I do come here frequently and read the posts.

I want to wish my friends here in the U.S. a lovely Thanksgiving today, and to send our Canadian friends belated wishes for your Thanksgiving last month. Safe travels to those who are hitting the road this weekend!

Belated Happy Thanksgiving. We went to dinner at a friend's house and our hostess got completely plastered. (Again.) Its a wonder we got dinner at all. So now I have someone else on my "I'm worried about you" list.

One of the other guests had spent the whole previous day slaving over 3 beautiful pies. I think DH and I were the only people who didn't turn our noses up at them. Really folks, out of sheer politeness, find space for a small sliver!

Oh, and if you are deathly allergic to nuts, its probably not a bad idea to let the hostess know in advance so she can warn those bringing dishes.

Having typed that out, maybe I can understand why she hit the gin...

Haha Mountaineer…I first read that YOU got plastered   .

Belated Thanksgiving from me. Our family had a very nice day. 3 chubby old people so we didn’t fix lots but what we had was very nice.

No turkey for us. We dined on beef tenderloin, mashed potatoes, the green bean casserole, and home made by me pumpkin pie. I did not make the crust, but that’s o.k. Today it’s sunny with temps in the high 40s. Having a lesson with Miss A today. We are working on walk to canter transitions on a serpentine. Of course now she anticipates canter every time we walk from short side to short side….

Happy belated Thanksgiving! We had a small family dinner with typical southern fare of turkey (brined and so juicy) cornbread dressing green bean casserole broccoli casserole and sweet potatoes no casserole just steamed. Homemade pecan pie and a lemon meringue pie DH makes for my mom for her birthday. Used to be her favorite but the dementia changes her tastes she did not each much of it. He made it for her 86 th birthday.

We did have a bit of wine but no one got plastered :)
