ANY help with conservatorship, Adult Protective Services

SUPER mother's day news. Went up to see her. The lawyer my sister hired, APS (actually DID something!) my mom's appointed lawyer, and her ad litum conservator got an emergency conservatorship hearing next Friday because ALL of it has been so bad ! Psycho has just continued to give us more evidence as we all played nice but, there is NO way she will ever go home with her. Everyone sees she needs a much higher level of care. (Being in the rehab, the five of us having been calling her all day, and even with all of us keeping an eye on her and calling nurses stations, in 24/7 care, it's a lot.)

SUCH a relief. My sister will talk to the lawyer about when we get conservatorship if it will be all good with the court to move her out of the county either closer to my sister or pretty much a block away from me--somewhere closer to most of the family one way or another.

Just, the relief. OMG. FINALLY.

Tanga - your family seriously needs to celebrate this event. I had concerns for your mother being discharged by your dysfunctional sibling and taken off somewhere. Now your family will have input and control of your mother's care as her health deteriorates. This should be a peaceful outcome for all.

Josette--We are, cautiously. We won't know for sure until Friday. As of now, she could take her from rehab. She can't because she's in bad condition, but you never know. She refused to respond for a few days when we couldn't get ahold of my mom, and my sister went there and found she had put all of our numbers on sleep. And then when I caught her there when she came in and I was on the phone with my mom, she lied and said my mom must have done it. Problem is we won't be able to move her out of the county to a good facility when she leaves. Good thing is SHOULD have conservatorship. Good thing, sibling is seriously stupid and inept.

BTW, my mom is doing great. This is at least a part time job for me, but it's OK. Been dealing with sever pain and cramping that we could not stop with way too much oxy, muscle relaxants and cortizone injections. Medicare rejected a reclining wheelchair, so we just bought one for $300 on Amazon, and it's a miracle cure. She can change positions all of the time, and despite cutting the oxy in half, the cramping went away and she's SO much better. Switching the oxy to as needed. OMG. The simplest things.

And POS sibling has refused to answer the phone or return her calls since June. My mom still calls her regularly. POS kept all of her VA, SS, and pension payments as long as she could until we finally got into the banks and all of the system. I hope she's rotting on the street suffering just a fraction of what she did to my mom.
