Jingles for UDBBer Fluffy --RIP

Some of you might know Fluffy from UD or Facebook. North Carolina. Love of turkeys. Actually had a house turkey at one point and was featured on Animal Planet. Things have gone badly with fungal pneumonia and a tanked immune system following a bone marrow transplant. Her son reports that her wish is to be home for Christmas. Hospice is arranging the transfer.

How about some jingles for a blessed and sweet Christmas for Fluffy and her family?

Her son asks

I do have one request for everyone who is reading this, and it's very simple:

As next spring and summer rolls by, if you see a turtle crossing the road, please stop, pick it up, and help it to safety. My mother loved every animal, and taught me to always be kind to animals, no matter how big or small.

Diana Thomson passed away in her sleep, Tuesday evening at 8:30, with her sons by her side.

Many jingles for Fluffy and her family. Her son sounds like a wonderful person! Please let him know that I have stopped many times for turtles and helped them cross the road. Next time I do that I will think of him and his mother.

Jingles for Fluffy, and her family.

It is the love that we share so deeply that makes saying goodbye so hard. Somewhere we have to hang on to the knowledge that it is so very sad because we have been blessed with great love, and eventually it will be the memory of that love that endures. I hope the thought of this brings comfort to all families faced with losing a loved one.

and sadder that somehow I missed that this was happening back in December. When I think of Fluffy, I think of how willing she was to support and cyber-love my dog Gunny and his endeavors, despite some truly horrible and terrifying experiences she had with dogs that looked like him. How sad I am that we never actually put together a visit to Charlotte for her to come and meet him (and me) in person. Godspeed Fluffy. I will keep an eye out for any transitioning turtles for you.
