I'll miss Freeway...
I'll miss Freeway...
...it's almost February. What a great second chance he got.
Re: I'll miss Freeway...
Yes. And isn't he gorgeous in that photo. Such a change from when he was first rescued.
Re: I'll miss Freeway...
A special story and a gorgeous photo for sure.
Re: I'll miss Freeway...
I'll miss him too, well I *do* miss him. More even than I thought I would.
There's another horse in that stall now, he's quite different from Freeway, well physically he couldn't be more different, but he is quite the personality in his own way. He's such a surfer dude personality (he practically did grow up in the ocean) I may wind up calling him Spicoli.
That said, I'd rather have Freeway back, I'd really hoped to he would live to be one of the ancient ones. But maybe it was right, given his history, that the choice had to be made while he was still hale and spunky and he never did get stiff or slow. My friend came to visit a few days before he left, she'd been sick, was bringing over a sweater as a gift for another friend and in an abundance of caution, has the sweater in a plastic bag and wore nitrile exam gloves so she wouldn't get cooties on it.
We walked up to see Freeway where he was out grazing, he ambled over. He got one whiff of her gloves spun a 180 and hauled ass for the far fence line. He said "what's WRONG with him!?" I said you're wearing exam gloves (something he has great familiarity with) and since he wasn't wearing a halter, he did not feel under any obligation to submit to some kind of exam so he exited stage left
Miss him.

Re: I'll miss Freeway...
I've got some ideas about that....making a forum just for reading about the whois the horse of the month. I just have to be healthy enough to be upright after work!
Re: I'll miss Freeway...
It can wait, but I think it's a lovely idea!
